Pressing
Two channels.
Ball starts at one end, and is passed down for attacking player to attack.
Attacking aim is to drive over end line.
Defending aim is to either win ball back or force opposition out of channel, or backwards.
Progressions
i) Start with 1 v 1's to work on pressing technique
ii) Progress to 1 v 2's to add tactical decision making
Coaching Points
1) Body shape - showing onto either weaker foot or into an area of the park/channel.
2) Speed of press - meet the opponent as high up the channel as possible.
3) Use angle of press to cut off available pass.
4) Decision making - when to go and win ball.
5) Cues/triggers to press

Pressing
5 v 5 in three zone, 6 goal game.
Aim is to score into one of the mini goals. Teams can only shoot one way.
Maximum of 3 players allowed in each zone at any one time.
Minimum of 1 player in each zone at any one time.
Coaching Points
1) Pressing as a unit - the initial presser (the trigger), the supporting pressers.
2) Cues to press
3) Emphasis on shifting over as a team, making use of numbers and overloads in defensive favour.
4) Maintaining balance by not over committing numbers
5) Reading the game - reacting quicker than opponents. Pressing before they can react.

Attack v Defence
Playing out from the back v final third press
10 v 9
Ball always starts with keeper.
2 goals if blues win ball in final third and score.
1 goal if yellows manage to play out to wings and score in goals.
Progressions
i) 10 v 9 in favour of team playing out from back, but this could be switched.
ii) A goal in the middle could be added to reward managing to hit striker after playing out from back.
iii) A box could be added in middle and a point could be scored if team playing out from back can successfully pass into box and pass out again.
Coaching Points - Playing out from back
1) Keeper starting position - middle of goal to increase options
2) Position of full backs and centre halfs - not cutting off the pass to FB.
3) If opponents are touch tight, move up park and allow for CM to drop. Reactions.
4) Angles, options and reactions - who should be where.
5) Communication on pass
6) Ensuring there is an option after your pass (not passing into a dead end)
Coaching Points - Pressing
1) Setting it up - going touch tight encourages long ball, back off, invite pass out.
2) Speed and reaction of press
3) The 'lead 'presser - others must feed off his body language
4) Triggers/cues - chipped ball, bad touch, bad angle, facing own goal, lack of options, hestitation, weak full back/centre half
5) Ensuring when you get the opportunity to win ball back, we do it aggressively.
6) Making it count - when you get the ball back, attack with purpose. An early shot if possible.
