Session Objective:
Building on the last two weeks, we are looking at using the #2 and #5 to start our attack, and looking for combos to get the ball forward. The movement and help from the other players is also important

Set Up:
2 Lines of 5 cones, with players lined up behind the first cone
Instructions:
Follow the FIFA 11+ warmup, using dynamic movements. Players should call out loud the action as they start their run
Variation/Progression:
The Coach may hold up different cones or give signals that the players should be aware of and call out loud the correct answers to show they are aware of their surroundings
Key Coaching Points:
Quality is better than speed
Switch on your 'football brain'
Focus on each movement
Player Coaching Points:
How can you do your best in everything?
The coaches are going to ask the football questions, and if you are paying attention, even give you the answers ;)
Are you going to make this your best session ever?
Did you come with the mindset of improving?

Set Up:
starting marker, stop the ball area, spare markers or bibs and a tic-tac-toe area, made with agility poles laying on the ground
Instructions:
Players split into two teams and must dribble or do other football activity before leaving there ball in the designated area, pick up a cone, and place it in the tic-tac-toe area before running back to their ball and passing it to the next player waiting in line.
Variation/Progression:
Harder:
Move the start point further away.
Make the ball stop area smaller.
Make multiple football actions before leaving the ball in the stop area.
Easier:
Move the start point closer.
Make the ball stop area larger.
Don't have a ball, or the ball stop area.
Key Coaching Points:
Speed only comes with quality. Make good decisions to win or block the other team from winning
Player Coaching Points:
Quality touches, and quality passes will help your team improve their speed.

Set Up:
10yd squares
6 Players per square (2v2+2)
One ball per square
Goals with keepers in place
Instructions:
The ball must stay in the area (unless its played into an end zone)
4 players (BP) try to keep the ball, passing until they can get the ball into the end zones.
2 players (BPO) are "in" and try to win the ball, they can shoot when they get into an end zone.
If a BP player that makes an error, ie. ball goes outside the area, gets tackled or makes an incomplete pass becomes the "in" player for themselves and their partner
The game goes for 3 minutes before having a 30 sec. rest.
Players keep score how many times they can get into an end zone.
Variation/Progression:
Harder (BP) - Smaller areas, longer game time, one touch, one player out waiting 3(+1)v2
Easier (BP) - Larger areas, Shorter game time, unlimited touch, 5v1
A bonus can be awarded if the BP team can make a split pass before getting the ball over the end zone
Key Coaching Points:
(BP) - short sharp passes, stay on your toes, quick feet, ready to defend if there's a turnover, slide up and down the line, look for splitting passes - but don't force it!
(BPO) - Stay close together, don't get split, one press - the other covers, be ready to attack as soon as you win the ball
Coaching comments:
How quickly can you win the ball back?
Where can you be to help?
What's the body position of the other person?
What's about to happen next?
Why didn't that work & how can you do it better?
Why did they score & what could you do?

Set Up:
2 red zones, 10x15m
2 green zones 10x15m
1 yellow zone 15x30
14 players (7v7) with any extra players waiting on side-lines (could add overload or extra midfield)
Instructions:
Objective: Get the ball from the "Red Zone" to the "Green Zone"
Players should always start each round from their zones
Play starts with the #4 and she can play into #2, #5 or #6
When play starts, all players should stay inside their zone, however the #2 & #5 can move into any zone, or space between zones.
If the ball is successfully played into the green zone, the white team starts again from the #4
Players that make an error, and turn over the ball or make an incomplete pass can be subbed with a waiting player taking their place.
If the ball is turned over, the black team should try and play the ball into the feet of #3
If the black team can win the ball play the ball into #3, then that team will start the new game, starting play from #3
Players should swap starting positions semi regularly, (#2 becomes a #7, #6 becomes a #10 etc)
Variation/Progression:
#3 can stand on the other side of the field and play into the green zones, and have the black team play into the red zone.
Players can be allowed to go outside their zones, however they should reset back to their starting positions when the game restarts.
Key Coaching Points:
Players should make sharp movements, time their runs and look for overlapping runs to create overloads
Midfielders should always be moving into and out of "helping positions"
Teams can always play back to #3 or #4 as a safety option.
Players should be mindful that sometimes the way forward is by switching play, and using the other side of the field.
Player Coaching Points:
#3 should always look for movement of players that "want" the ball
#2 & #5 should look for give and goes, or driving runs depending on what the defending team are giving them or taking away
#6 & #10 should be "coming in to help" or "getting out to create space" with their movement
#7 & #11 should receive the ball "on the run" and should try and be "goal side" or "inside" their defender

Players should try and put into practice the things we have worked on in the sessions through the week, and show the coaches and other players why they should be in the starting 11 for the upcoming game
Variation/Progression:
Strikers vs Defenders
Last game's starting players vs the bench and coaches
u15 (with conditions) vs u14
Mix u15 & u14 on each team

What has been the main focus of this weeks training?
Can you put into 'this game' what we have worked on this week
Show everyone why you should be in the starting line up
Player Coaching Points:
How can you "be better" than the other players wanting to play in the same position
