Session Objective:

See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Organisation: Use half pitch per diagram. Approx 15 players
Activity: Divide players into 2 teams (more attackers than defenders, ie 8v7, defending team with a GK). Attackers begin with ball trying to score on net with GK. Attackers are allowed unlimited players in penalty area, defenders allowed a maximum of 3 players (3 defenders are not designated to penalty area, a defender can move in if a defender moved out). Attacker must be in penalty area to score. Points for each goal are awarded depending on number of players in penalty area (4 players in box = 4 pts for goal). If defenders win ball they may score in either of 2 smaller bow nets along sideline.
Coaching Points:
Are players making runs to goal to become scoring threat?
Can players get numbers in penalty area timely for pass/cross?
Can players make runs finding undefended spaces?
Do players put themselves in shooting lane to make quick shot?
Mindset- go for goal!

Organisation: Use field set up per diagram. 14-16 players
Activity: Divide players into 2 teams. Station players at cones A, B and C. Player A (CAM) passes wide to Player C (Winger) who plays pass inside to a Player B (Striker) who comes to ball for a give and go pass back to player B. Player B RWB down sideline and makes cross to teammates. Goals must be scored from inside penalty area with a 1 touch. If player A scores it is worth 2 pts, if player B scores it is worth 1 pt. Players rotate from A to B to C. Make it a competition, play for set time and see which team scores more points
