Quick Passing

Quick Passing

Set up a line of 3 cones, each cone 8 yards apart. Then put a cone 8 yards to the side of the middle cone in the line. Repeat this so the group can be split into two.

The players will split into two groups and go onto the cones as shown in the diagram. The players will perform a one-two and pass it to the next player. This will get repeated around the 4 cones. To start with the players can be limited to 2 touches then if they are finding it easy reduce it to one touch.

After 5 minutes of this get them to then pass it around the other way (As shown in the group on the right side of the diagram).

Attacking

Set up a 10yrd x 10yrd box 8 yards away from the penalty area. Then place a cone on each wing where the wingers will be to start the drill. In the square, there will be four players on the outside and one attacker in the middle. On each wide cone needs to be an attacker and then two centre midfielders on the side of the square furthest away from the 18-yard box.

The back 4 (players around the box) will pass it around the box and the player in the middle tries to win the ball off them. Once the attacker in the middle wins the ball he then plays it to one of the centre midfielders to start an attack. The 4 blues (defenders who were passing the ball in the box) will drop back and become a back 4 to defend the attack. Once the defending team wins the ball or the ball goes out of play everyone gets back into position.

If the attacker in the box is unable to give it to a centre midfielder he can pass it to one of the wingers to attack. The back 4 must get back into position quickly to defend the attack and not concede.
