Function.
20 Minutes.
Formations - 2-3-1 - both teams (11 vs 11 = 4-5-1).
Conditions.
- Blue team has 8 seconds to score.
Coaching points for key players. (8,10 & 9)
8 & 10 - Quality of pass (power of pass, over hit, under hit), type of pass (driven, through ball), movement to support (run beyond 9, drop in for lay off or give and go)
9 - Same principles as drill previously, but not decision making (when to run in behind, when to drop off, shoot or pass? type or shot, driven, curled, side footed).
Function moves into SSG, just remove 8 seconds condition for Blue Team.
Equipment.
- 2 full size goals.
- Cones.
- Balls.
- Bibs (12, 6 of 2 colours).

Drill (15 mins)
10 Minutes.
2 players required for this drill. (Striker and any other outfield player but preferably a player who would feed a striker a pass in a game).
- Stiker stands 2 yards outside the cones to start.
- Feeder passes the ball into feet of striker.
- Striker takes a touch to control the ball then another to create space against the mannequin to fire a shot at goal.
- Targets are placed in the goal as extra points.
- 1 point for scoring a goal, 2 points for hitting any targets.
Progression 1.
- Feeder now has the option to not only play a pass into the feet of striker but to play a through pass splitting mannequins and creating what would be a 1 vs 1 with the striker and GK.
Progression 2.
- Introduce a GK to defend the Goal.
- Progression 3.
- Introduce a defender to mark the striker.
Coaching points;
- Head over the ball when shooting.
- Use either laces or inside of foot.
- Concentrate on hitting the target before trying to break the ball by going for power.
Equipment.
- 1 full size goal.

- 3 large cones.
