The Session:
Pass and move with forward passes
Two groups. Players in the middle stay on the cone and set the ball into the path of players running through the channel. Fig:1. Player 1 passes to P2 who sets it P1, P1 plays to P3 who sets it back for P1 to pass to P4 with a pass through the gate. P4 re starts the same drill but starts from where he received the ball.
Progress by:
Fig 2: P1 plays to P3 who sets it to P2 who then plays P4. P1 continues the run and plays a wall pass with P4.
Play one touch if on to do it
Clip passes into players so they are receiving it in the air
Players have to make at least two passes with their weaker foot
Key points:
First touch
Ball has to go back the direction it came from
Firm passes to test each other
Movement off the cone to receive the ball
Don't break your stride when combining the passes, go one pace and drive through the channel
Eye contact with player receiving the ball
Pass quickly and always think of 'quality' when passing/receiving

The Session: Possession to setup Attack
Setup:
Grid size 36x48
6v6 + neutral players in end zones and on side if extra players
3 x 4mins with 2 mins rest in between
Coach will play ball in to commence and each time ball leaves grid
Team in possession will look to play ball to neutral player to score
Red playing right to left, Blue play left to right

Combination play to play forward to neutral player in end zone

Limit number of touches
If to easy increase number of passes before ball can be played to neutral player in end zone

Set up:
- 15 x 10 rectangle
- Two mannequins half way between (or posts with mannequin covers)
- A passes backfoot to B who has pushed off from the mannequin (just a couple fo steps max) and receives slighlty behind to break line
- A moves to B
- B then passes backfoot to C and progresses to C
- C takes touch to side and passes to feet of D who touches to finish in behind
- C takes his place
- The next rotation starts on D's touch
- Work in groups of 6-8
Key Messages:
- Strong pass to back foot
- Movement away from defender to break line and backfoot receive
- Quality in side moves - over emphasise moves and first touch away from defender
- Protect as you do side mvoes - keep the ball away from defedner

Pass and Move Shooting Prep
Player A passes to B. B has checked off the mannequin and ready to receive with an open body on the back foot. B then plays back to A, who plays a pass to C. C then sets for B who plays across to D. D now sets for C, who plays a ball in behind for D to shoot at goal.
Players move from A to B, B to C, C to D between sets.

SESSION - Creating overload counter attacking opportunities (Possession Practice)
14 or 16 players, 7v7, 6v6. (4v4+2 in red square). Play starts by coach playing a ball into red square for possession game. Both teams have an attacker and defender plus goalkeeper outside square.
The objective is to gain possession in red square and play quickly into attackers feet (9). As ball gets played into 9, one attacker can join the 9 and create a 2v1 overload in front of goal and finish. Repeat process
PROGRESSIONS
1. Allow 2 support players to link up with the 9 and a defender to track runners.
2. Number 9 drops in to the red square, attracting the defender to follow him (9 doesnt receive pass). Two other attackers enter attacking zone to receive and finish.

- 9 cones set up in box formation,each cone 10m apart [see diagram]
- Athletes to perform exercisesin rows of 5 through each channel
