- GK then returns to goal line to repeat.
Coaching Points:

- Encourage proper catching technique.
- Encourage proper distribution technique.
- Goalkeeper can face away to turn into the drill.
- The server can throw a ball in the air or bounce the ball with force. rather than a volley for the GK to catch at the highest point.
- 2 more small goals are added further out so the GK now has four targets to aim for.
Note 1:
Under arm throw:
- Look at your target.
- Hold the ball in the throwing hand.
- Place the opposite foot forward pointing towards your target.
- Step forward as if lunging.
- Lower your body to the ground, back knee bent, and withdraw the ball back in your hand.
- Bowl the ball alomg the ground and follow through with the throwing arm.
- This is used to generate distance.
- With proper technique the GK will achieve accuracy helping to keep possesion.
- The throwing arm holds the ball behind the body....non throwing arm will point in the direction we want the ball to travel.
- The opposite foot will be placed forward.
- sling the ball forward with the strong arm and allow the top of the arm to almost brush the ear.
- Release the ball slightly early to generate height and slightly late if you want the ball to hot the ground with pace.
- Follow through with the throwing arm poitning in the direction tye ball is travelling.
- The technique here is similar to how a javelin is thrown.
- Designed for quickness in distribution.
- The ball starts in the palm of the strong hand beside the head ( at the ear).
- The ball is thrown straight forward as the keeper steps into the throw.
- Power the throwing hand forward to get distance on the throw.
