Topic: Switch playing for playing thorough

Priciples: make pitch big, keep pitch wide, decision making when to switch, who can switch? exploit the space, ball speed

Pitch Geography

RED (4-2-2) (Being coached)

BLUE (4-2)

Subprinciples:

1. transitions

2. force wide, make the pass predictable, press quick, leave the furthest players

Area size: half pitch

Targets: reds score both mini goals, blues score the blue goal

Players: 9 reds (with GK) v 6 blues

Time: 4 mins

Organistion:

1. Drop the bibs for reds(4-2-2) and blues(4-2) on the pitch, get 2 more blues and 1 keeper beside for SSG

2. Brief inroduction of targets, formation, players, time

3. Explain the switch playing principles for reds and defending switch playing play principles each in brief

Key words for switching: make pitch big, keep ball wider, good timing to pass, good ball speed, tight touch and open body body to pass.

Key words for defending switch: force wide; make the pass predictable; press quick; leave the furest players

5. kick off and identify ball lose when denfending tight press.

Problem 1: reds lose ball before switching beacuse blues press too quick and tight

Solution 1: keep the wide, exploit the wide sides narrow area to switch

1. Two without ball wingers or CB or midfield make the pitch big and get ready for receiving the ball and o the goal position. 

2. Wingers with ball keep the ball wide wait for the striker drop to make a next-pass to over head switch. Or miefield move ousitde make a next-pass for CB or winger to switch. play through is the first option, could pass back to CB or GK to play around. 

3. Make sure pass ball accurately and powerfully, but accurancy is the first option.

Defending the switching: force wide; make the pass predictable; press quick; leave the furest players

1. when the ball on the full backs press the ball really aggresive

2. leave the furthurst players wide

Chanllenages: 

reds: can you try to make 5 passes before switching?

Blues: can you try to block the passing through?
