2v1 Make Play Predictable (10 mins)

2v1 "Make play predictable"

- Play for 30 seconds & switch roles, Field: wide area's: 8x8/ middle area: 4x8

- 2 attackers look to connect passes ON THE GROUND between each other

- Defender looks to intercept/block passes

- Each interception = 2 attacker pushups/Block = 1 pushup for attackers

PROGRESS to 4v2

**** Mix intensive dynamic movements into the warm-up (short and sharp movements).

3v3 Organized Press (20 mins)

Area: same as illustrated on Field. Play is started with a pass from #1 to #2. Attackers try to score on the small goal

***Note starting positions of both teams, as they should promote forcing the ball wide creating an orgranized press on #3 (illustrated)

- If defenders win it, they look to switch ball to find coach to restart play.

- Switch roles after 10 balls - team with most goals wins.

- Switch sides of field

Coaching Points:

- Pressure should force the ball into the area we can create the defensive overload.

- Cover players can cheat towards double the more play is made predictable by pressuring defender.

Functional Organized press (20 mins)

Area: same as illustrated on Field. Play starts with pass from coach to CB/GK

- If defenders win it, they look to switch ball to find coach to restart play.

***Switch roles after 10 balls - team with most goals wins.

- Switch side of field

Coaching Points:

- "Make Play Predictable" forcing them wide at "Line of Confrontation"

- CF forces play out wide

- WF prevents direct ball down line initially until WB is played then steps to Opposition's WB to force play down line to Opposition's WF

- ball-side DM looks to double oppositions WF with Wide back in shaded area (WF can triple too)

8v8 Conditioning Game (Fitness Overload) (30 mins)

8v8: Field: 77x46, Two 13-minute games with 2 mins rest between games

- All restarts from the GKs

**Uninterupted Play: Coach within the run of play only. No stoppages. Keep balls available for restarts.

- All restarts with GK's.

- Encourage creating a defensive block - "line of confrontation", which invites the opposition to play out from the back. "Around us, not through us."

- "Organized Press": Force play wide into defensive overload areas

- Defend in a 3-3-1, attack in a 2-3-2
