A minimum of 2 players is needed to get going. As players arrive, they put down their water bottle, coaches provide them a pinnie, and they start playing. As other players arrive, increase the game to 2v2s, 3v3s. Overloads 3v2 are ok. In the beginning, place two nets down for the game field. As the players are playing, walk around to complete the area set up with cones.

Setup

N/S - E/W

North/South - East/West

Players are trying to connect the ball from one end to the other end. One team is going North/South, the other East west. Do it with 2 balls first, one per team and they are going at the same time.

Move on to one ball only and players must connect with one of the players in the middle before going to the other side for a point to be counted. When the other team gets the ball, they now have to connect to their own ends.

Play on time and switch players on the outside.

Choose between 2v2 or 3v3 in the middle according to number of players.

Setup

1 x 20/25yrds areas.

Objectives

Players are introduced to the concept of creating Width & Depth (Spreading out)when in possession of the ball

Players keep trying to make positive decisions to move the ball forward even when unsuccessful the previous time.

Enjoyment of playing soccer
