Organization:
- 20x30 yards area.
- Entry gates (white) and exit gates (blue) positioned around perimiter.
- Attackers with ball each
- 2 defenders
Instructions:
- Attackers gain 1 point each time they dribble through an exit gate. Player can only re-enter the field using entrance gate.
- Defender gains 1 point if they tag attacker. Attacker loses 1 point if tagged.
- Switch out defenders after 1min.
Coaching Points:
Size, distance of touches (dribbling or running with the ball)
Head up to identify space.

Organization:
- 20 x 20 area
- Players divided into 4 teams.
- 4 mini goals in corners.
- All soccer balls in central location.
Instructions:
- Coach passes ball into area. One player from each team competes to score on any corner goal, except their own.
- Objective is to score a goal in an opponents goal while defending your own. Each team starts with 5 lives. If a goal is scored in their goal they lose a life. Once all 5 lives are lost they flip their goals and can not be scored on until they regain a goal. First team to 10 goals wins.
Coaching Points:
- Various techniques for finishing; power vs placement.
- Head up to identify postion of defender & goal.
- Prep touch to create "shooting space" & then finish.
- Encourage the use of a first time strike, provided player has assessed the opportunity.
- Can you trick the other players by drawing them in to one area then turning out to a different goal.
- Disguise using eyes, body shape.

Tom and Jerry (15 mins)
Organization:
- Players are Jerry the mouse and run inside the grid - 3 triangles set up in grid each with one player inside.
- Two players are Tom the Cat.
Instructions:
- Tom's try to tag Jerry's who are outside a triangle - cannot tag a player who is inside the triangle ("safe zone")
- Jerry's can enter a triangle, which forces the player currently inside to exit - can only have one player inside the triangle at once
- Once tagged, the tagged players switches roles with the Tom.
Coaching Points:
Recognize space and get into it
Realize where Tom's are and stay away
Take first touch when receiving the ball into space/away from defender
Technique when receiving
Progressions:
Add balls to players outside the triangles - must pass the ball to player inside the triangle to switch places
