The Drill
- 2 teams against each other trying to keep possession. 5 passess equals a goal.
- Teams are put in different situations to see if they can adapt to different styles. After each section play is stopped to talk about the positives and negatives of that style of play.
1. Free play for first few minutes,
2. Team 1 are winning and have to slow the play down and keep the ball at all costs. Team 2 must do everything in their power to win that ball back as quick as possible, target is 10 seconds. Switch roles after a while.
3. Team 1 have to try and play at a quick tempo moving the ball around the square quickly. Team 2 have to man mark the opposition players, even when in possession don't go far away from their man. Again swap roles after a while.
Objective
- To identify and think about the positives and negatives regarding different ways of marking when defending.

Set Up
A square is set out. Players are straight away set into two equal teams and players have to pair up with someone from the opposing team.

- If player 1 manages to escape he is the winner. Or if player 2 stays close the whole time he is the winner.
- Players swap over every 1.30 minutes.
- Players swap partners halfway through to keep things fresh.
Objective
- Players get used to man marking and staying close to someone on the opposition team.
