Objective: Allow players time for recovery and competition. Players will enjoy a "street" football match without the coach intervention.

 

Rules: 

- Kick ins or Throw in

- NO GK

- No Co Kick

- 3 min games, rotate sides and opponent

4v4v4 (15 mins)

Objective: The pace of the ball as it travels through the middle block

Rules: 

 

  • 4-5 passes before playing the ball through the middle
  • 1 player from middle pressures on each side as ball switches
  • If ball is intercepted in the middle, ball gets switch and team who lost possession goes in the middle
  • If ball is won inside the scoring zone, player with ball can score in any of the 2 small nets.
Bring topic out: 1 pts if ball is switched around the block ; 2pts if ball is switched through the middle block

 

 

Attacking Actions:

 

  • Make field bigger
  • Body position to receive
  • Check shoulder to see next pass
  • Pace of the pass ; middle of foot with middle of ball
Defending Actions:

 

 

  • Compact shape
  • Attempt to block pass
  • Verbal communication
Coaching: Encourage players from the outside of area. If needed, stop the play and show how the pass must be done / how the middle must defend. If attack needs to get better then defense must be coached first.

Playing through the lines - 6v6 (20 mins)

Objective: Playing the ball through the lines ; breaking lines of pressure

Rules:

  • Depending on the numbers, even numbers on the middle zone
  • Ball can start from team building up from small goals / goal
  • If ball breaks into the striker, one extra player can enter and make 2v2
Coaching: Picture the situation, explain/review/demonstrate, play again. If the situation is not happening, I will stop the play and move players into positions to get the situation I want. This is a tactical practice with technique within the situation.
