Session Objective: Ball Striking - Possession & Penetration
Team Task:
1. Coach to play ball into LB/RB
2.LB/RB to play to each other and try to find CM's
3. CM's play to each other and try to find STK in the end zone (1pt if ball makes it to STK)
4. Players to stay in zone,
5. Ball to be played on the ground
Step Down - 2 balls moving from end zone to end zone, no defending
Step Up - 2 Touches only
Step Up - Defending team to counter and find STK if they win the ball
Player Tasks/Coaching Points:
Can LB/RB find CM feet
Can LB/RB pass to each other
can player look up before striking the ball
can players move and look to receive the ball
can defenders squeeze together to close the space

Session Objective: Ball Striking & Penetration
Team Task:
1. GK plays out to LB/RB
2. LB/RB to find CM's
3. CM's to find STK
4. STK to Score in Goals
5. Players must stay in zones
6. Ball must be played on the ground
7. 1 pt end to end ball movement & goal
8. 2 pts for a split pass
9. 3 pts for a split pass & goal
Step Up - CM's must play 3 passes to each other before finding STK
Step Down - 2 Balls simultaneously, no defending moving the ball from end to end
Further Step Up - players to stay in 1/6th zone, players must find a pass to split or beat the opposition

Can players look up prior to passing
Can players split the defender with a pass
Can players take the first touch forward
Can players ask for the ball
can players move to recieve the ball
can players call each others name when passing and receiving

Moment/Phase:
What: Trying to encourage our players to identify when we can play a penetrative pass through an opponents defensive lines to get the ball into forward areas of the field.
When: When there is a gap in the opponents defensive lines and/or space behind.
Where: Any 1/3 of the field as long as we penetrate one of their lines
Who: Creative Midfield Players/ Forward Lines
Why: We want the players to identify when we should retain possession and be patient and when we can penetrate the opposition lines.
Session Objective:
To play a penetrative pass through an opponents defensive line to get the ball into forward areas of the field.
Team Task:
If we do not see a penetrating moment what do we do ?
Can we position ourselves in pockets of space between 2 opposition players to receive the ball with time and space ?
Can we identify the correct moments to penetrate and the correct moments to retain possession ?
Player Tasks/Coaching Points:
Can one of our CM's look to find spaces between attacking line and midfield/defending line with the correct body positioning to face forward on the ball?
Can our wingers create space in behind by checking off towards the ball and looking for the ball in behind?
Can our defenders and midfielders be patient in possession until the moment has been identified?
