Introduction (10 mins)

Organization:

- Players organized themselves in a line with a good amount of space between them

- Ball each

Instructions:

- Players dribble to the red line using their pinky toe to dribble (outside of their foot) . When they get to the red line, players must  do a soft touch with the outside of their foot to make the turn, using their hips to turn their  body to go back

- As soon as the players start getting comfortable with this technique, coach will turn it to a competition, where the first player to make the turn and arrive to the start line earns a point

Regressions/Progressions:

R - Increase the size of the space between the players

P - Challenge players to only use their outside of their foot.

Main Activity (30 mins)

Organization:

- Field split in half (depending how many players we have)

- Red and blue gates on each side

- Attacking (Red) players with ball each.

- Defenders (Yellow) without ball.

Instructions:

- Attacking players look to gain points by dribbling through the blue or red gate in the opposite side.1 point if they are able to make it

- Defenders positioned in the opposite side of the area. Their job is to prevent attackers from dribbling through a red or a blue gate, if possible, steal the ball and dribble to a red or blue gate in the opposite side . 1 point if they do it

- Rotate roles every 3 min.

Coaching Points/Questions:

- Awareness of surroundings - space, gates, defender.

- Before you start dribbling, you must have a plan in your mind

- Decision making - "What is the best gate to attack? Will it always be the closest one?".

- Type of touch as you go closer to the defender:

Soft Touch Like Messi

Hard Touch Like Ronaldo

Before we start the activity, we can introduce the player to this concept with a race without a ball.
