Find the Free Player - Move Forward - Numerical Overload

Title: Find the Free Player - Move Forward - Numerical Overload (6:35-6:55)

Aim: Put players in a setting where connecting with a team mate, successfully finding the free player in midfield is the behavior for success. Sub - 10's movement into the final third.

Organization / Activity: Players play 4v3 inside the grid. Blue's aim is to connect with a team mate and dribble (Prin: dribble to attract) across the line. If red win the ball they can score / pass into the pugs, blue team must sprint behind the pugs - discuss our poor transition vs RG. Blues cant have more than two players in the same channel.

Coaching Script / Plan for Failure:

6:40 - Players will fail to take their first touch away from opponent, use their body, use deception to change the picture to keep possession - Show them what this looks like, surface area, body language, movement, deception.

6:44 - Players will fail to recognize they're free and will not move effectively to get the ball - Discuss showing feet and being side on in order to receive and play forward.

6: 50 - 10 will fail to move behind the line if / when 8's dribble to attract - discuss Addison Hunt assist against RG and the importance of this action to create time / space and a numerical overload centrally in final 1/3.
