25 mins
30x40-yard area divided into two zones: a 20x30-yard “possession zone” (midfield) and a 10x30-yard “attacking zone”
Objective:
- Reds start in the possession zone, aiming to complete 4 passes to maintain control, then pass or dribble into the attacking zone to score on the goal.
- Greens defend, trying to win the ball and counterattack to a cone line) at the opposite end of the possession zone.
- Reds must complete 4 passes in the possession zone before entering the attacking zone. Passes must be to teammates’ feet.
- After passing, players must move 3-5 yards to a new space ( to the side or forward) to create a passing angle or support an attack.
- Only 2 Reds can enter the attacking zone to score (encourages selective movement); 2 Greens can defend in the attacking zone.
- If Greens win the ball, they counterattack to the small goal/cone line. Reds then become defenders.
- Rotate teams (attackers vs. defenders) every 5 minutes.
- Possession and Ball Control:
- Use a soft first touch to control the ball and face a teammate.
- Make crisp, accurate passes to avoid interceptions.
- Look up before receiving to spot open teammates or space.
- Movement Off the Ball:
- Move after passing to create triangles or open lanes (shift wide or check back).
- In the attacking zone, make a run toward the goal or pull wide to create space for the ball carrier.
- Stay spread out to stretch the defense, avoiding crowding.
- Progression:
- Reduce to two-touch passes after 5 minutes to increase speed.
- Require one pass to a player who moved off the ball (,into a new space) before entering the attacking zone.

30 mins
40x40-yard grid
Split into two teams 7v7 . Add 2 neutral players who play with the team in possession, positioned wide or centrally to offer passing options.
- Team Red (attacking team) complete 5 passes in the grid to score 1 point, then attack the full-size goal to score (2 points for a goal).
- Greens (defending team) press to win the ball and counterattack to the small counter-goal (1 point for a counter-goal).
- Neutrals play with the team in possession, moving freely in the grid to provide passing options (as wingers or midfielders).
- After passing, players must move 3-5 yards to a new space to create passing angles or support the attack.
- If Greens win the ball, they counterattack to the small goal with neutrals’ support. Reds become defenders.
- Only 3 Reds (plus neutrals, if they advance) can enter the area near the full-size goal to shoot (encourages selective movement).
- Rotate neutrals every 3 minutes; swap teams (attackers vs. defenders) every 6 minutes.
- Possession and Ball Control:
- Use a controlled first touch to set up passes or shots.
- Make crisp, accurate passes to feet to maintain possession under pressure.
- Look up to find neutrals or teammates moving into space.
- Movement Off the Ball:
- Create triangles or diamonds by moving into open spaces after passing.
- Make runs toward the goal (into the box or wide) when attacking to pull defenders or create shooting lanes.
- Neutrals should shift to gaps to stay available, encouraging teammates to spread out.
- Progression:
- Add a 10-second limit to complete 5 passes to increase tempo.
- Require a one-two with a neutral before attacking the goal.
- Limit shots to one-touch finishes to encourage quick decision-making.

20x20-yard grid
Objective: Reds maintain possession with quick, accurate passes while moving to open space after each pass. Greens press to win the ball.
Rules:
Reds aim for 10 consecutive passes (1 point). If Greens win the ball, they swap with the last two Reds who touched it.
Players must move 3-5 yards to a new space after passing.
One-touch or two-touch max to encourage quick ball control and decision-making.
Coaching Points:
Possession and Ball Control: Firm, accurate passes to feet; control the ball with a directional first touch toward open space.
Movement Off the Ball: Check shoulders before receiving; move to create angles for the ball carrier.
Progression: Reduce to one-touch after 5 minutes to increase intensity.
Relevance: Builds passing accuracy and awareness under pressure, encouraging players to move off the ball to support teammates.
