Create a 10 X 10-yard grid.
Start a player on two diagonal corners of the grid.
Each of the two players has a ball.
When the coach yells "GO", the players must dribble around the outside of the grid in an attempt to catch their partner.
When the coach yells "STOP", the players must stop the ball.
When the coach yells "TURN", the players must switch the direction around the grid.
Players try to catch eachother by dribblign around the outside.

Set up three service points, one on each side. Servers can be players, or you too, and are given numbers or trigger names, such as Giggs, Cole or Rooney.
Area: Penalty area or suitable sized grid
Players: Minimum 10 with keeper plus 3 servers/spare team
Equipment: Goal, cones, balls
On your shout a server delivers the ball into the area (not directly to a player).
Play 3v3v3. Players have to react quickly in order to get to the ball first and then combine with two team mates to score. The opposing two teams try to prevent the team in possession from scoring while at the same time trying to win the ball and score.
If an opposing player gets a deflection it becomes their goal. Play the first team to score three and then switch teams. The keeper can be restricted to a small area.

Create a 20 x 30 playing area.
This might seem like a big area for just four players but the big space will create more breakaway situations and will encourage players to run into spaces during matches.
Place a small goal on each end line.
Split your players into teams of two and give each team a number – 1,2,3,4.
Each team has a soccer ball.
teams 1 and 2 play 2v2. The remaining teams spread out along the sidelines.
If a team concedes a goal they leave the field and the next team step on with their ball. They attack the winning team’s goal as quickly as possible.
The winning team stays on and plays until they concede a goal.
If the ball goes out of bounds, the game is restarted with a kick in.
First team to win X number of games wins.

Organization:
Approx 20yds x 16yds, 6 cones needed for sidelines
use of Pugg/Pop-Up goals
Instructions:
- Split your group into 3 teams (it's okay if uneven numbers)
- Play 2 minute rounds, team with the most goals at end of 2 minutes stays on.
- If no winner at the end of 2 minutes, ties solved by:
- first team in size order
- first team in alphabetical order, first name
- first team in the shape of a house (be creative)
- make up your own, make it incorporate teamwork and problem solving
Coaching Points:
- Let them figure it out.
- Great chance to address principles of play (width, depth, mobility)
- Lots of individual reference regarding technique
- Lots of running commentary to guide players to solutions through your questions. Help them figure it out but don't give them the answers.
- Allow them to express their interpretation of a solution
Progressions:
P = not needed entirely. the game competition should bring out enough challenge
R = if players struggle with even opposition, add the third team as neutral players along the outside. make it doesn't ruin the flow of the game, perhaps limiting touches.

snakes and mice
players start with ball each apart from one defender. the defender then trys to kick the balls of players out of the area. once the attacker has lost the ball they join hands with the defender and they start making a snake. this continues until there is only 1 attacker left. can have 2 defenders to make things easier as will have 2 snakes going.
