Starting the Attack
Set up a 10yrd x 10yrd box 8 yards awayfrom the penalty area. Thenplace a cone on each wing where the wingers will be to start the drill. In the square, there will be four players on the outside and oneattacker in the middle. On each wide cone needs to be an attackerand then two centre midfielders on the side of the square furthestawayfrom the 18-yard box.The back 4 (players around the box) will pass it around the box andthe player in the middle tries to win the ball off them. Once the attackerin the middle wins the ball he then plays it to one of the centremidfielders to start an attack. The 4 blues (defenders who werepassing the ball in the box) will drop back and become a back 4 todefend the attack. Once the defending team wins the ball or the ballgoes out of play everyone gets back into position. If the attacker in the boxis unable to give it to a centre midfielder hecan pass it to one of the wingers to attack. The back 4 must get backinto position quicklyto defend the attack and not concede.
The spare players will be in a rondo on the side and after 5 minutes they will swap with some of the players that took part in the drill first.

Possession Square
The possession square is 8v8 and the aim of the drill is to keep possession of the ball. To start with the square will be 5 touches max to challenge the players with passing the ball. The progression will be to make it 3 touches to challenge the team to pass the ball quickly around the space. The regression will be to make it unlimited touches to put less pressure on the players to pass the ball as quickly.
