Breaking Lines

Organisation:

  • 30 x 30m Square with halfway line
  • 2 x Yellow vs 2 x Blue in each half (4 v 4 total)
  • 3 Reds play with whichever team is in possession

(A) Aim:

  • Team in possession to play from one end Red player to the other, via middle Red player, and back again

(B) Behaviour:

  • Receive on half-turn, on back-foot
  • Encourage players to play forward to middle Red player on half-way who can pass unopposed into 'attacking' half

(C) Condition:

  • Only 2 players in each half
  • Reds must play with the team in possession
  • Reds can move along the line to receive the ball

(D) Distribution:

  • Coach serves to end red players and informs which team is in possession
