2v1 with tackle back
Essence:
Defensive management of a 2v1 on the last man.
Structure:
Teams are made up of two players.
Team A has to stay inside their box while defend the blue line. They start the drill by passing a ball to one of the players in team B who then has to try attack 1v2 and get over the blue line. If he succeeds then teams switch start positions, if team A tackle the ball then they attack the goals and team B try to defend the 2v1 with a tackle back.
Pointers:
- Team A must stay inside of their box while defending to achieve the desired tournover.
- As trainer umpire the game and blow up free hits for team A (a 5th player could also umpire and then rotate into the exercise)
- The focus of the 2v1 should always be to defend the middle of the field and then slow the attack down so the tackle back player can be involved.
Variation:
1) The distance from the goal can be made great or smaller.
2) The drill can be played 3v3 or even 2v3.
