Dynamic movement warmup/Rondo (10 mins)

Organization:

As above any space

Instructions:

Players begin training with a dynamic warmup excerzices to limber up and warmup muscles.

Players then split into groups and play a 5v2 rondo

Coaching Points:

1) Making sure movements are correct and at full speed

Passing and Receiving: Receiving with the back foot. (10 mins)

Objective:Passing and receiving on the back foot.

Organization:

- Players are position on the four corners of the grid with players occupying the two cones placed in the center of the grid. Balls start on opposite ends of the grid. Player A passes to Player B who receives with the back foot to play Player C. Player C then plays facing forward to opposite line where pattern also starts from there. Always working in a clockwise direction.

Variation: Counterclockwise direction.

Variation2: Combination play with players occupying middle cone(s).

Coaching Points:

Visual checking before receiving a pass.

-All players use both feet and inside foot to receive pass.

-Control with a turn (Inside players).

-Rapid movement to support the ball carrier.

-The intensity and speed of play should be high.

-Movements with the ball should be sharp and deliberate.

-Receiving the ball in an open position towards depth.

Interval Duration: 2 intervals x 5 minues; 10 minutes.

Forward Moves (5 mins)

Working on dribbling moves to beat defender, both ends working.

1) X steps right takes outside of left

2) X steps left takes outside of right

3) X steps left steps, steps right then takes outside of left

4) X steps right, steps left takes outside of right

Key points-

-Both players should almost be symmetrical in there movements

-Encourage to bend knees and explode into space

-Make eye contact or some form of communication to enable you to do it at the same time

-Do each stage for 1-2 minutes

-Make the move believable

Playing out from the back (20 mins)

Set Up

Playing out from the back, with a 4 v 2 mainly playing through the goalkeeper trying to find the spare player, making 15 passes before trying to play through the gate.

Progressions

1. Add extra defenders in the middle

2. Limit the the players, bar the goalkeeper to touches allowing them to think and play quicker

Field measurements:

20x30 yards.

Explanation:

2 teams play small sided scrimmage. Dribble/kick ins from the side. Can score from anywhere.

Points:

Every goal is 1 point.

Materials:

2 small goals, 1 soccer ball, 10 cones.
