SWITCH PLAY GET IT WIDE
Switch Play Session
Organization:
Create an area of 40×60 yards and divide into three 20-yardzones.
Players have two touches in the middle zone and unlimited touches in the outer zone. Have 4 goals in the outer zones.
Overview of Session:
12-14 players in the session. 5v5/6v6 or as needed plus goalkeepers as targets.
The coach starts the session with a pass out to one of the teams. The keepers should be used as support in defense and attack for players to pass back to. The players must dribble through the flags in order to get one point but if they use the keepers in the build-up, they get two points.
Progression:
1 touch in middle zone, unlimited in outer zone

Progression:
Work in pairs. 2 times through jog back
- Jog straight thru
- Shuffle thru (face one way, face the other)
- Skipping thru use arms
- Open Gates, Close gates
- Jog to first cone shuffle around each other jog forward to next cone
- Walk pull your knee up
- Jog to first cone, back peddle back, forward to next cone, backpaddle to closest cone repeat
- Walk Grab leg pull back pause, kick out (quad)
- Jog forward to cone, shuffle together , jump up shoulder charge, land on both feet repeat
- Face your own line backpeddle thru
- Forward to first cone, backpeddle back then forward thru
- Side shuffle to first cone, shuffle back, turn sprint forward thru cones
- Walk hand down extend leg back (hamstrings)
- Lunges hands on hips add twist
- Sprint twice thru
