SSG Color goals15 mins

Organization:

25'X25' area.

Equipment needed:

4 pop up goals, soccer balls, pinnies, cones 2 colors 5 of each.

Cones to mark the area.

Explanation:

Place 2 cones of the same color to mark the goals as shown above.

Coach has each color cone in their hands.

Teams play a SSG.

When the coach holds up a cone, the team in possession can score on the goal marked as that color.

If there is no cone held up, the team must maintain possession until coach shows a cone.

If the ball goes out of play, coach will play a new ball in.

If a goal is scored the team that scores maintains possession, the coach will play a ball in to them & SSG starts again.

Coaching points:

Encourage players to help one another by communicating the color that's shown & when it changes.

Help players to realize that they can score on either goal when the color is shown.

If a goal is taken away, try the other one.

Encourage players to spread out & use the whole space.
