As previous but the passing outer calls the name of another outer player who closes down the receiver to force a mistake. Receiver must take 2 touches and may pass back to passer.
Outer players can move around to open up more passing options.

*OK to use a fake touch
*defender must pressurise the touch and only go to win the ball if receiver makes a mistake - reinforce pressing style rather than tackling
*outer player must be EITHER ready to pass OR on toes ready to receive
Receiver has 2 lives to make as many passes as possible up to 5.
Receiver is rotated in sequence until each players has had a turn.
Progress by giving each player 20 seconds to make as many passes as possible.

15x 20 area. 2 teams.
Red (defender) passes out for blue to control and attack either goal.
Red goes when blue reaches half way across.
Blue must shoot before the final zone and within 3 touches.
*blue must scan before deciding which way to control
*red must shut off one option but can vary the run to make it difficult for blue
*blue must protect ball
Rotation : after all blues have attacked the reds have a turn.
Progress by reducing touches to 2 and allowing defender to move earlier. Also by making it a competition.

20x20 area. 2 teams 4v4 or 5v5. Crossroads game. If 3 teams then play a competition
Blues play N-S, and reds play E-W.
Teams score by moving the ball from one end to the other. Once ball is in play its 5v3, continually changing the target men. The defending team keep a player at each side ready to receive a pass when their players win the ball. The game then goes the other way.
*scan to ensure space to receive using 3 or less touches to move the ball on

*movement to offer passing options - including target players
*pressing to force a mistake.
If ball goes out of play without being received by any target player possession is retained by attacking team but a life is lost - start with 3 lives.
Progress by reducing number of lives and by enforcing 2 touches maximum.

30x20 area. 4 goal game. 2 touches only in midfield and defensive thirds.
Any player taking more than 2 touches must immediately get away from the ball and run round the nearest goal.
Teams must keep 1 player in attacking third.
All restarts are goal kicks/dribbles.

Middle player asks for pass from 1 of the outer players and controls and passes with max 2 touches. He must take 1st touch whilst facing the passer and then pass to any free player on one of the other sides. Play for 10 secs each and count how many passes completed.

Passing to a player who already has a ball results in disqualification.
