Warm-up (15 mins)

WARM-UP

Organization:

If the group is too big divide it in 2 so everyone is active and switch 

Instructions:

EXERCISE 1

With 2 balls dribble to the cone, make a pass, and turn around to receive the pass again. Do 5 reps then add different instructions such as:

- once they are halfway stop the ball with the sole and keep going.

-once they are halfway do "scissors".

-once they are halfway do a "lunge" to one side and go opposite.

-among others

EXERCISE 2:

Dribble the ball to the middle and act as if the pole was a defender, trick him and pick a goal to score.

Coach Points:

  • Players must be active the entire time.
  • Switch groups at 10 minutes mark.
  • Give positive feedback.

Part 1 (10 mins)

Organization:

  • Divide the group in 2

Instructions

  • Players will start by doing a triangular movement pattern shown by the coach, when finished they will run and receive the coach's pass and then they will try to score a goal.

Coach Points:

  • Players must be active the entire time.
  • Give positive feedback.
  • Players must run and make explosive movements.

Part 2 (15 mins)

Organization:

  • Divide the group into 2 even teams.

Instructions:

1) zig-zag facing forward

2)zig-zag facing backward

3)zig-zag sideway ( switch sides)

4)one knee up

5)two in, two out.

6) jumping with 1 foot, then switching the next round with the other one.

7)jumping with both feet together.

Then at the end of the station, the coach will make a pass and the player must stop the ball and score a goal.

If the ball does not go inside of the goal the player must retrieve the ball to the coach.

VARIATION: Add the ball for the entire exercise.

Coach Points:

  • Make sure that players must pay attention and focus on the exercise.
  • Give positive feedback.
  • Players will be doing a lot of coordination movements/patterns since I noticed a lot of them lack this so I want to see improvements in their coordination.

Part 3 (15 mins)

Definition drill

I will divide the team into groups of 3 to do a 3v3 one-minute game. The team that scores stays the other one is out.

On the side, I will have the other team do the coordination + definition exercise.

EVERYONE MUST BE ACTIVE, NO ONE SHOULD BE SITTING DOWN.

Maybe we can play against the boys again. I will ask my player if they want to try it again and maybe do it every Wednesday to get more confident inside of the field as a team.

Cool-down (10 mins)

Full body stretch -> making sure everyone is doing it properly to avoid injuries

-Ask players how are they feeling.

-Ask also for feedback about the session.

-Give players individual feedback showing them how much they improved so far!
