See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Hockey images.
The purpose of this exercise is to see whether the GK can kick safely and competently to a given target area
The area closest to the back line is not included so that the GK is not under too much pressure to open their hips and risk missing the ball. The Zones between the cones selected will still give us a chance to see the level of control
The feed of the ball is critical from just behind the Penalty Spot and must be by hand at a comfortable speed not intending to score and between 2 markers placed one metre from each post
The cone targets are 2 metres/steps apart
The GK has 10 attempts on the right foot to kick a pass of a slow pace and any ball fed outside this mark have to be taken again
Maximum time allowed for all 10 balls is 1 minute
The scores are marked clearly on the picture and different coloured cones should be used in the exercise
The total target score is 20 for the right foot and this should gives us enough information as to the ability of a GK
