1v1

1v1 Attacking & Defending (20 mins).

Field set up: 

24 steps wide.

36 steps long.

2 teams, split according to video.

1) The coach plays the ball to one of the yellow Attackers, the blue defender who is diagonally opposite will defend. 

2) The Yellow attacker has 5 seconds to beat the blue defender and score in the goal.

3) If the Blue defender wins the ball, they have 5 seconds to score in the goal.

4) Once a player has scored or the ball goes out, both players return to their lines.

5) The Coach will then play to the other yellow attacker (shown in video).

Switch the attacking team after 5 minutes.

Competition: The team with the most amount of goals after attacking for 5 mins each wins.

2v2 conditioning

2v2 Attacking overload - conditioning (20 mins).

Field set up: 

24 steps wide.

36 steps long.

2 teams on, 2 teams off, split according to video.

Depending on numbers, 2 fields running simultaneously may be needed.

Alternatively, change drill to 3v3 - 2 players must get around the goal instead of 1.

1) The yellow player starts the game by scoring a "free" goal.

2) The yellow player must run around the goal before returning to play. During this time the blue team quickly gets a ball from their goal and starts the counter attack.

3) Whenever a player shoots and scores or misses they must run around the goal before returning to play.

The game is to be played at maximum speed and effort for 1:30.

3v2

3v2 Attacking overload (20 mins).

Field set up: 

26 steps wide.

38 steps long.

2 teams, split according to video.

1) The coach plays the ball to one of the blue attackers, the yellow players will defend. 

2) The blue players try to combine quickly and score in the mini goal.

3) If the yellow defenders win the ball, they have 10-15 seconds to score by dribbling through either of the red gates with control.

4) Once a player has scored or the ball goes out, both teams return to their starting positions.

Switch the attacking team after 5 minutes.
