SET UP
12x6yd grids marked out with 4 cones and a single cone in the middle of the grid
3 players per grid, 2
1 ball in play, with a few extra around each grid.
OBJECTIVE
PASSING- Proper Pace and Proper Accuracy
RECEIVING- to receive and turn using different parts of the foot.
Outside player makes a pass to middle player who is standing slightly in front of middle cone, middle player then receives ball, turns and clears the middle cone and makes a pass to the other end player.
KEY POINTS/PROGRESSIONS
RECEIVING
Use your foot as a paddle to direct the ball and play in the desired direction.
1. OUTSIDE OF THE RIGHT FOOT- use the outer part of the RIGHT foot, to receive the ball, turning RIGHT away from the cone then make a pass with your LEFT foot to the end player.
2. OUTSIDE OF THE LEFT FOOT- use the outer part of the LEFT foot, to receive the ball, turning LEFT away from the cone then make a pass with your RIGHT foot to the end player.
*use as many touches as possible to set yourself up for a proper pass
progression make the play as fluid as possible.
3. INSIDE OF THE RIGHT FOOT- ,use inside part of the RIGHT foot to receive a pass moving the play and ball to the LEFT and then make a pass with the RIGHT foot, to the end player
4. INSIDE OF THE LEFT FOOT- ,use inside part of the LEFT foot to receive a pass moving the play and ball to the RIGHT and then make a pass with the LEFT foot, to the end player.

20x20 yd grid
5x5 yard grid in the middle (red cones)
balls set up at the left end where red 2&4 are
OBJECTIVE
-Red 2 plays a pass to Red 6 simultaneously Red 4 plays a pass to Red 7
-Red 6 and Red 7 move out of the grid to receive the pass, while Blue 2 passively defends Red 6
and Blue 3 passively defends Red 7.
-Red 6 then turns and plays a diagonal pass to Red 10
-Red 7 plays a diagonal pass to Red 8
Player rotation is
Red 2&4 enter small grid as defenders
Blue 2&3 become receivers
Red 3&5 become passers
Red 6&7 go to right side of outer grid
Red 8&10 receive the diagonal pass and dribble with speed under control or use different ball mastery skills to go to left side of the outer grid
PROGRESSION
increase the temp of the defenders
-passive-harder on the back, but cannot steal t5he ball

1st touch is a positive direction
pace and accuracy of the pass
shielding or turning the proper direction and time
showing for the ball and calling for the ball

SET UP
2 pug nets
half field or slightly less
OBJECTIVE
4 attacking players - they attack 2 defending players.
If they score 2 defenders jump in making 4 defenders, - 2 more attackers jump in and create a 6v4. attackers try and score. Defenders try and clear into wide pug nets.
COACHING POINTS
4 v 2 play quick, attack space, overload a side
offer support,
6 v 4, use numbers overload a side, quick ball movement, switch field

1/2 Turn Passing and Receiving Drill (10 mins)
SET UP - create a 12x6yd grid, by using 4 cones, the place 2 cones on the outer line of the grid and 2 cones at the mid mark of the end lines.
3 players in each grid, make as many grids as you need according to players. 1 ball that is used, have extra balls at each grid.
OBJECTIVE
1. Start the play from the end line
2. Pass to the player who is at the halway point.
3. that player receives the pass and then passes to the other end player
4. Middle player then sprints to the other side of the halfway cone, and sets up to receive another pass.
5. Play continues for 1 minute and then rotate until all players have been in the middle.
KEY POINTS
Passing
pass to a players back foot (on the half turn)
proper pace and placement
Receiving
open your body to a position where you can see both the passer and also the direction in which you want to go after receiving the ball.
1. Move towards the ball once it is passed2. Receive the ball on your back foot, and have your 1st touch of the ball move towards your next travel of play
3. make a pass to the back foot of the next end line player.
PROGRESSION
Once players are comfortable on their dominate foot, switch the travel of play and pass and receive with the Left or non dominate foot.
