Organisation (Practice Layout & Transition)
Practice is set for 12-14 players (adjustments can be made for more or less)
Practice is set around building play through wide play.
Setup
Total area dimensions 34yd wide - 50 yd long.
A channels of 5yd wide form each touch line (flats ideally)
Spare balls to be situated with Coach on either of the touchlines (if a 2nd coach one on each touchline.)

6V6 + GK partly opposed wide play
Instructions.
Split session in to 2 groups of 6 this time including a GK each side. (more can be added if required)
If no GK add 1 player as a defender.
Players will complete the drill Partly apposes.
Players to Pass between their team find the player in the wide channels, deliver ant attempt to score.
Attacking team look to build up play and keep possession,
Ball must be received by player in designated areas ( either Channel) and delivered in to the box for attackers to attempt to score.
no goal can be scored unless the ball enters one of the wide channels.
Progressions.
Maximum 2 or 3 touches.
Addition of Defenders 1 or 2
Mechanics for Attacking team.
Passing
1. Look at target
2. Eye on ball
3. Angle of approach
4. Non-kicking foot alongside ball in acomfortable position
5. Strike centre of ball with inside/ outside of foot (Identified area of ball)
6. Firm ankle
7. Follow through towards target
Control
1. On toes
2. Eye on the ball
3. Get in line with ball
4. Decide and present surface towards ball
5. Relax on impact

6V6 + GK Attack V Defence wide play.
Instructions.
Attacking Team (blue) will have ball played in to them via the coach.
Attacking team look to build up play and keep possession,
Ball must be received by player in designated areas ( either Channel) and delivered in to the box for attackers to attempt to score.
no goal can be scored unless the ball enters one of the wide channels.
Rotate Teams so both are involved with attacking play.
Progressions.
Maximum 2 touch.
Defending team can score in small goals either side to support Attack to defence transitions.
Reduce number of attacking players.
Regression
Reduce reduce number of defensive players.

Same as previous adding in 2 x small goals behind spaced just inside the channels.
Instructions.
Attacking Team (blue) will have ball played in to them via the coach.
Attacking team look to build up play and keep possession,
Ball must be received by player in designated areas ( either Channel) and delivered in to the box for attackers to attempt to score.
no goal can be scored unless the ball enters one of the wide channels.
Defensive team can now win possession and attempt to punish mistakes or loss of possession by the Attacking team.
Rotate Teams so both are involved with attacking play
Progressions.
Maximum 2 or 3 touch.
Time limit to progress the attack
Narrow wide corridors
Regression
Reduce reduce number of defensive players.
Remove goals and revert to just Attack v defence wide play.

5 yd Channel on each touchline.

Players will play as in match with conditions of play.
Starting with no restrictions for players.
If goal is scored via the wide channel this is a score of 3
If goal is scored from central play its a score of 1
Overall objective is for Attacking team look to build up play and keep possession, build up play through wide channels and covert goals.
Progressions.
Maximum 2 or 3 touches.
Goals only from wide channel build up.
Minimum passes before scoring.
