Explanation:
Team in two groups, each group on an end cone.
One player in the middle.
Play starts with end player passing into middle payer who turns and passes to opposite end player.
Players follow their pass so first player becomes middle player who will receive pass and turn and pass back to where they came from and follow.
Progressions:
1. Middle player now follows pass to one side then opens up backwards to the other side to receive pass then turn.
2. Middle palyer now turns and drives towards opposite end player.
3. Can also introduce a 1-2 at each end.
4. Can make area wider and introduce 2 or 3 player combination in the middle.
Coaching Points:
Can middle player open up body shape
Head check (quick scan) before receiving ball
Receive ball on back foot and turn quickly
Communication - indicate to end player where you want the ball
Waiting players do dynamic stretches.
If players are standing around too long set up another area.

Directional play
Play starts at one end the objective of play through the thirds to score.
Players stay in their zones
Team Task:
Play forward through the thirds and score
Player Tasks:
Defenders to react quickly to restart to be able to make a quality pass to midfielders
Midfielders to position themselves to receive ball in space and turn
Midfielders to either turn and pass or drive forward
Midfielders to combine, play through balls to forwards
Midfielders to keep triangle formation (2 deep/1 high when defending, 2 high/1 deep when attacking)
Forwards to look for through balls
Forwards to receive and turn where possible to score
Player Cues:
Defenders - can you pass quick, quality ball to mids
Mids - can you open up and find space to receive from defenders
Can you create space to open up longer pass to more forward player
Can you receive and turn
