Screen 2 (10 mins)

3 v 2. attackers have the ball, and has to shoot from behind the cones or dribble through to score. Blue delay until third player comes back to play defense.  if blue wins the ball the play to goal. 

close the gap. 

Coaching Points:

  • Do not stab at the player. get in front and keep them in front until the recovery gets back. 
  • communicate. which way are you pressing, where is the help coming from?
  • When everyone is back, identify to press.

Screen 3 (10 mins)

Green - Can only dribble through, or shoot from the behind the cones . Blue, close dribbling and passing lanes/gaps. Delay until the player comes from behind. Defense comes in as coach is playing the ball in. 

Coaching points:


  • Defensively. Close gaps, 
  • don't stab at the ball. 
  • Make a wall. win the ball. 
  • Don't let them dribble through the middle.
  • Get behind the ball as quickly as possible.
