Football/Soccer Session (Moderate): Long Range Shooting (Start Time: 2017-12-03 13:55:00)
Description
This is designed for 7v7 full field indoor session. We incorporate fitness into each session.
This is a 90 minute session with 10 min allocated at beginning for dynamic warm-up

Setup:
Each grid is 2 10×10 yard grids with a 15 yard gap between (35×10)
Players are in groups of 3 or 4 depending on numbers with one ball between the 2 groups
Instructions:
The group with the ball pass and move to allow each player at least one touch
After each player has had a touch any player may shoot towards the other end
The players at the other end repeat
Each shot must be below waist height
Players facing the shot must use 1st touch to control ball in box.
Encourage movement and creativity
Play a game where shots that pierce the players at the other end scores a goal. Only shots that stay within the side boundaries and are below waist height count.

Accuracy before power
Side on approach to the ball
Non-kicking foot alongside and pointing in the direction of the shot
Hips facing the intended target
Head steady with eyes focused on the ball
Correct contact part of foot and ball
Use both feet

Setup: Divide players into 3 equal groups. Balls start with Group A.
Progression # 2:
Pass from A to C is to Feet, Player B checks to player C for give and Go.

Fitness:
6x22 yard sprints with 45 seconds rest in between.
5 repititions.

Setup:
The area is 60×40 split into 3 zones with goals and goalkeepers at each end
Two teams nominate one player to act as a target player in their attacking zone
Instructions:
Play takes place in the central zone
Goals are scored by playing a pass into the target man who sets for any player to shoot from around the edge of the zone. Target players have one-touch and the shot must be a one touch finish
Target players may score from a rebound
Key coaching points:
Speed and accuracy of passes – short and long
Early passes into the target player
Early support for the target player
Accuracy to hit the target goal
Aim low and hard towards the corners
Rebounds

Players are in groups of 4 (or 3) with 2 at either end approximately 30 yards apart, and 2 central
Instructions:
The first pass from an end player (A) is short into (B), who sets back for B to play a long pass into C.
A and B switch roles. C and D continue in the same way
Mix up the long passes between long-lofted and driven
Try using both feet

Side on approach to the ball
Non-kicking foot alongside and pointing in the direction of the pass
Hips facing the intended target
Correct contact part of foot and ball
