Organization:
10 x 15
Minimum 4 players per grid
Each player with a ball
5 cone diamond set up in the middle of the grid
Instructions:
1. 2-4 points with players evenly distributed. 2 players at a time dribble towards the diamond of cones. Once they are 2-3 feet out from the first cone he/she will try a move we have worked on: V move, Roll inside/outside cut; and then explode past the cone and enter the space behind.
3.Once the player(s) have reached the other side they will go to the back of the line.
Coaching Points:
1. Keep your head up: Recognition of space = Big vs. small touches, and timing
2. Technique of move: V move, Roll inside/outside cut; Inside/outside surface moves we learned last week.
3. Touch after move - needs to be explosive but controlled into space away from defenders reach.
Progressions:
(P1) - Remove the center cones and extra balls. Have one player start with the ball, and the first player of the opposite line jog out as a passive defender.

Organization:
15 x 15 grid with a 5 x 5 box in the center (as shown)
3 players minimum on each outside cone
1 Ball per group
Instructions:
1. (Coach) Introduces ____ turn/move.
2. The first player in each line dribbles, using Messi touches, out to the center box which is divided into four triangles.
3. Once they reach the center cone he/she must perform the move/turn the coach has just demonstrated.
4. (P1) - add in passive defender, to encourage players to check their shoulders before turning.
Coaching Points:
1. Vision - Keep your head up. (1) Be aware of space and pressure (2) Check your shoulder to see if there's space behind.
2. Change in speed and direction
3. Body shape - Keep a low center of gravity to (1) shield the other players from stealing the ball (2) quick explosions away from pressure
4. Body positioning - where is the ball in relation to pressure; Near or far foot?
Progressions:
(P1) - While one player dribbles with the ball towards the center triangle a second player will act as a passive defender shadowing the first. The focus is encourage players to look behind them before they turn. If players become comfortable with this the defender may become active. (--> Attacking player becomes the next passive defender; Defender becomes next attacker)

Organization:
25 x 15 grid
One goal at the endline, Two 1 yd gates on either sideline
Balls placed near the coach
Two lines of players
(Set up as shown)
Instructions:
1. Players race around the cone.
2. The first player to make it around the cone becomes the attacker and the second the defender.
3. The ball is played to the attacker. He/She uses turns, they just learned, to unbalance defender and score in one of two goals.
Coaching Points:
1. First touch
2. Close control
3. Execution of turns
4. Recognition of which turn to use and when
5. Body shape: Protecting the ball with the body
6. Change of speed(/direction) - accelerate out of turn to finish on goal or through the gates
Progressions:
(P1) - If the ball is won by the defender he or she can now go to goal and score themselves.

Every player with a ball
Instructions:
1. In the 20 x 15 grid allow the players to dribble around using Messi / Ronaldo touches.
2. (Coach) Introduces and reviews Messi and Ronaldo touches and addresses when and where to use each touch.
3. Allow the players to practice.
Coaching Points:
1. Keep you head up - Look out for other players who may bump into you. Look for open space.
2. Recognize when to use Messi vs. Ronaldo touches while performing the move. (Before/After?)
3. Maintain a low center of gravity
4.Touch after recognizing there's space - needs to be explosive but controlled into space away from players reach.
Progressions:
(P1) - 5 lives; Each players has 5 lives to start of with, if they dribble out of bounds or by accidentally bumps into another player he/she loses a life. If a player gets down to zero lives left he/she must see a coach for a technical challenge that will give them an additional 5 lives. After 2 minutes see who many lives each player has left.
