Session Objective:Warm up game
Organisation:
3 v4 in each half:Reds in half A have ball and try to achieve five passes.Yellow try to intercept.After 5 passes Red player when able passes to Red player in opposite half B and follows pass to create 4 in other half.As soon as this is done,one yellow player in B runs to other half to create 4 v 3 in yellow favour in A.
Continue this so players have experience of being 4v3 or 3v4 and movement into both areas.
Key Factors:
Good touch and angles to receive and play.
Empasise scanning so that players are aware of players in other half so as to make pass.
Quality of pass
speed to join in other half.

Session Objective: Defensive Recovery
Organisation:
Players 2 v 2 in each half.Players stay in own half in defending half but if an attacking player loses ball or ball played into other half, he must recover into defensive half to support.
Emphasis is on reaction to giving bsll away and developing role in A>D transition.

Session Objective:3 v 3 game with floater : free play
Organisation:
3 v 3 with one floater.Rotate floater.Score by one touch finish in penalty area, no goalkeeper.
Vary demands:two touch/three touches in one half befre going into other half;only score with one two etc etc

Move ball quickly
Timing and quality of runs into the box

Session Objective: to improve defending 2v2
Organisation:
Players in lines each side of goal
Ball played from one end to other.Players then receiving ball attack and players who have just played the ball defend.When attack played out/goal scored,players return to back of respective lines and next pairs play.
Play balls from each end in turn so players have a go at defending and attacking.
Key Factors:
Defending priorities:
Speed to close down quickly in line of ball.
Brakes on and take defensive stance and be patient.
Second player balances off.
Good communication.
Force the direction of play.

Organisation:
In threes at first:one player throws ball to second player who heads to third.Third throws to first,who heads to second who catches ball.Continue so all have a go at throwing heading and catching.
Then extend into game.Players to keep to throw head catch pattern and can score only by a header.
