U10 Academy Girls Session - Creative Movement in Attack

Technical Warm up/Foundation phase (12 minutes)
Explain that today's session is able making space and options in attack.
In grid of 35x40, players partner up and "pass and move." Introduce concept with demonstration as well as explaination of the idea of moving into space after a pass.
After a two minutes. Rehearse overlap on command of "one!" Let them practice overlap on their own.
Coaching Points:
1) Details of overlap, overlapping player must change pace, player holding ball must play ball in front of overlapping player
2) Details of wall pass, player must change pace, receiving player must play leading pass to reward the run
3) 1v1, change of speed and direction to beat defending player
After a minute or two, rehearse "wall pass" on command of "two!" Let them practice overlap and wall pass on their own, as well as on command.
After a minute or two, rehearse 1v1, on command of "three!"
While passing and moving, call out 1, 2, or 3. Go for about 3-4 minutes.

Phase 2: Small Sided Game (13 minutes)
Adding Direction. 5v5+1 (neutral) Yellow attacking to right, non-yellow attacking to left.
Points are scored by either passing over end line to teammate receiving pass or dribbling over end line.
Coaching Points:
1) Create wall pass with combination (Cue: attacking player shows square)
2) Create 2v1 with overlap (Cue: Player is isolated with space to run into)
3) Take a player 1v1 (Cue: Isolation 1v1)

Phase 3: 3 Goal Activity (15 minutes)
Change of directional play. 5 v 5 + 1. Non-yellows attacking 3 goals at top of screen, yellows attacking goals at bottom of screen.

2) Create 2v1 with overlap (Cue: Player is isolated with space to run into)
3) Take a player 1v1 (Cue: Isolation 1v1)

Phase 4: Final Game of 6v6 (15 Minutes)
Dimensions 35 x 45 yards
Less coaching, more playing. Over-the-game.

- In 35x40 grid, play fastest tagger. If you get tagged, you sit down. If the person that tags you, get tagged, you stand up and try and tag others. If it is a tie, rock, paper, scissors.
3-5 minutes for instant activity and get the players moving. If too much sitting, can call jail break.
