The objective of the session is to recognize when the defense shifts to the strong side, then create and use space on the opposite side.

Game Objective: Move the ball to the opposite side through a direct pass or playing it wide then up.
Topic: Draw Defense and Switch Point of Attack
Phase: Unbalancing
Problem: Having a hard time moving the ball up the field because the defense has packed the strong side.
Who: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
Where: Defensive two-thirds
When: The defense shifts to the strong side
What: Move the ball on the ground to the opposite channel. Connect to the 4,5, or 6. Play the ball to the opposite foot. Touch forward.
Why: to move the defense in order to create and use space.
Layout: 12 x 12 grid
Restrictions: 4v2 Rondo; 6:1.5:1; Two touch limit
Scoring: 1 point for getting the ball to the other side without turning it over.
Game: Black plays to black. Once ball is out of play, red plays to red. As long as one team keeps posssesion they play
Coaching Points:
Cognitive: 1. Be alert, scanning constantly, as you are always in play. (perception) 2. Constantly think about where you need to be to create space and play the ball. (conception) 3. Make a decsion where to play the ball. 4. Devise a move to decieve the defender, if needed. 5. Play the ball (execution) 6. Assses
Technical: 1. Keep your hips open to the center to be able to play any option. (receiving) 2. Use both feet staying balanced on the balls of your feet. (ball control) 3. Make subtle changes in your positioning to create angles and keep passing lanes open. (positioning) 4. Pass to back foot. (passing) 5. Receive across your body. 6. Be courageous and look for the split pass when available. (ambition)

Game: Regular rondo game.
