Intro (10 mins)

Organization:

  • 2 Players to a ball. Tight area. Combine passes within grid.

Instructions:

  • Start with how many passes as group can you complete.
  • Split passes between groups count as point.
  • Must keep ball within grid, if ball rolls out, loss of all points.

Techinical Coaching Points:

  • Proper tech of pass. 
  • What part of foot? Driven or not. Playing into space.

Main (20 mins)

Organization:

  • 3v3+3

Instructions:

  • Ability to switch play from one neutral (B) to opposite results in a point (Numerous switches for numerous points)
  • Must play a neutral (B) before going to goal.
  • Defenders cannot enter wide channels.

Techinical Coaching Points:

  • Ability to connect passes.
  • Driven pass from side to another.
  • Scan field as ball arriving to you.
  • Taking on defenders in front if needed.

Tactical Coaching Points:

  • Awareness of open space.
  • Movement off the ball to create passing lane.

Condition Game (25 mins)

Organization:

  • 4v4 / 5v5 adapt with numbers available.

Instructions:

  • Open play with ability to maximize points, if ball switch from one channel to another and a goal results, goal worth 3. Cannot score from own half.

Techinical Coaching Points:

  • On the ball what are best decisions. Dribble at def v eyes up find player in open space.
  • Swinging of the ball from one side to another, how many touches/passes does it take? How quickly can we make the ball move.
  • Exploit gaps in opposition.

Tactical Coaching Points:

  • Find dangerous gaps.
  • Create separation, sit in passing lanes, ready to receive and play forward.
