Orientation (15 mins)
7v5 on half 7v7 field. Possessions start from black team gk.
Instruct white team to press high and force play wide so ball gets to #2 and/or #3 frequently. If white team regain possession, look to attack big goal as in a regular game.Black team have numbers advantage and looking to play from #1 to #2 or #3, and must connect with #6 or #8 before getting to shaded area.
Play 2x7 minute rounds with quick time in between to adjust white team's press if needed.
Learning (20 mins)
Once white team are working at expected level and creating high press and forcing ball wide, work closer with black team to play through into midfield and then forward.
Key points for #2 to not just look at a straight ball down the line, but to look at #6 or #8 depending on their movements. Technical points to push are tempo of play, body shape when receiving and quality of pass to your teammate.
As success comes for black team, can add extra defender for white team.
Play 2x7 minute rounds, with time for drink break, changing of roles and direct instruction on key points.

Activity 3 (20 mins)
Implementation
8v7 now. Change direction now so black team are attacking the main big goal and white team have 3 counter goals as well to score in.
Challenge black team to now build up in regular game setting towards a central goal, despite adding in #9 and their wider run, still looking to go from wide at #2 and #3 into central midfield with #6 or #8 as entry point pass. From there, players have creative freedom and choices to make for best path to goal.
Play 3x6 minute rounds and keep scores at all times.
Key points to reiterate are body shape, quality of first touch and pass into next player, body shape and movements of #6 and #8 to receive angled pass and play forward/switch.
End session with free play scrimmage, reminding players that nothing wrong with #2 or #3 playing straighter ball forward down the line, if that is the right choice, but it shouldn't also be the default every time we build out, so looking for variety in scrimmage of how build up phase is executed.
