Football/Soccer Session (Academy Sessions): Target man switch rondo

Animation 1

Set up: 

• 20 x 20 grid (dependant on numbers)
• 2 teams inside the grid.
• Each team with 2 target men diagonally across from each other

Method:

• Players look to move the ball from one target man to the other without a break in the passing chain. If successful players score a "goal
• Every time a player passes the ball into a target man, they swap and become the new target man. The original target man can now move about the grid freely and looks to link up.
• Once the passing chain has been broken players must move move start again ie hit both target men uninterrupted

Coaching Points:

• Make the grid as big as possible in possession
• Move the ball quickly
• 2-3 touches
• Pass and move
• Scan and adapt
• Good passing and receiving actions
