Main Practise
Defending in central areas vs 2 forwards
Session Aim: - To defend effectively in central areas
- Reduce opportunities to shoot/play through
- Send outside - Away from the goal
- 1v1 defending, blocks and tackles

Narrow & Compact
At any opportunity, both units to be narrow and compact to reduce space between players.
Times to gets narrow & compact:
- No pressure on the ball
- When the ball goes out of play
Primary Unit(s)

Secondary Unit(s)
- 3, 5,6,2
Technical Detail
- 4/8/2/3 to tuck when on oppersit side to the ball.
- 10 to provide cover to 4/8
- all midfielders players to be aware of oppression players trying to receive behind. Scan shoulders and screen passing lanes
- 5/6 on the front foot being ready to jump onto forwards
- Closes players to the ball to apply pressure if able and send outside

Slide & Shuffle
When the ball travles from side to side both units slide and shuffle to reduce space between players/units
Primary Unit(s)
- 10, 8, 4
Secondary Unit(s)
- 3, 5,6,2
Techincal Detail
- All players travel as the ball travels
- 4/8/10 to screen passing lane into opposition players who could receive behind the midfield unit.
- 2/3 to tuck in and provide cover to CB.
- 5/6 to be proactive and antipate passes into front players
5/6 to have a side-on-body position incase opposition goes over.

Leading Practise
2v3 directional game with the O.O.P team defending in 2s. If defending team wins the ball, players keep the ball for as 2v1. After 5 passes, a second player can join to make it 2v2 in the middle. Once the ball leaves the area or blue win it back blue players can transfure the ball back to the ends to restart the practise
