Advanced GK Session on breakaways
Designed for three Keepers, can be used for any number just divide them into groups of 2 or 3 and work in grids.
Real goals are prefered for the final game., but Bownets/ pugs/window goals may be used

Organization:
8 balls spread throughout the 6x6 grid in two columns
Instructions:
goalkeepers race to performs a smother braekaway save on each of the balls,
After each save, they come back and circle around the corner cone.
uopon reaching the last ball and making the save they spring to the other side and do it again untill they have reached ball #8 First player to get to save #8 wins
Rotation A to B to C(rest)
Coaching Points:
Attack the ball on a straight line
get low as you approach the ball
slide hands first

Add more balls, cover more distance

Organization:
organized exactly the same, 8 balls in two 6x6 grids.
Instructions:
Keeper A - makes a 50/50 save against B
then immediately gets up and deals with player C who tries to dribble him
If player C gets by (whiles staying in between the next ball or end of grid and dribbles through to the end zone. player A gets a point scored against him.
Keeper with the fewest conceded poitns wins
Rotation A to B to C
Coaching Points:
ability to recognize 50/50 vs stalking situation
50/50 - be brave. commit hands first, chest behind the ball
stalking - low body shape, palms out,
close distance / manage distance
let the forward make the first move
awareness to pounce off a bad touch
force player away from the danger area

Organization:
Same double 6 x 6 grids
Pug goals on either side
8 balls on the attacker's side
Instructions:
C dribbles and tries to score on a pug A defends.
A turns into B and rests. B turns into C and dribbles . C turns into A and defends
round ends on a goal
out of bounds
or keeper wins it and rolls it into the opposite goal. (must be on his feet, only has 3 seconds, 3 steps)
Coaching Points:
close distance /manage distance
move forward when the ball is off the shooters foot
too big a touch? slide and claim it
too small a touch? stalk

Organization:
24 X 20
2 goals on either side
Instructions:
1 player starts with their hand on the ball
2nd player starts 3 yards away
When the first player takes their hand off the ball. players begin play. one player dribbles and tries to score. until the ball goes out of play or int he goal.
if the keeper wins the ball he/she may outlet to the sidlined player.
The sidelined player may distrubute to the feet of the GK who passed him/her the ball.
defending keeper can't defend in his own defendsive grid until first touch.
Offensive keeper may encroach into the attacking grid to recieve an inbound pass, but defending keeper may mark/defend him or the inbound pass
First to five wins
Coaching Points:
close distance
manage distance
don't make first move
stalk out of the area
watch for a bad touch and pounce/smother
feet set in the case of a shot
accurate distribution to an outlet

Instructions:
