Tactical Now in the middle of the goal, can they identify where to score. |
|
Psychological What is their strongest point in their finishing? What is the best part of the foot to use to be able to finish? |
4 cones
2 poles
Gate 1 will pass the ball to the player standing in between the 2 poles. This player is allowed 2 touches before they can finish. They will then recieve a ball from gate 2 and replicate the same thing.
The player gets a point per goal.
Coaching points -
Can the player keep the touch in front of them to shoot, rather than having the ball stuck under their foot. This allows them to get their head up to look where to shoot.
Now they are more central, what areas in the goal can they look to shoot.
Again, using different parts of the foot, inside - outside - laces.
Making sure they are balanced when they shoot.

Passing Drill/Activation Warm-up. (20 mins)
Passing Drill -
2 mannos
4 gates
Player in gate 1 passes the ball to player on the manno. Player on the manno turns with front foot and then plays a pass to player in gate 2. Player in gate 2 then passes the ball to player in gate 3. The other ball is doing the same thing on opposite side, so 2 balls working simultaneously.
Red lines indicate the players following the pass as this is the rotation for the drill.
Coaching points -
Weight of pass from player in gate 1, where do they pass the ball.
Player on manno needs to use their front foot- Why? - To keep their body between the defender and the ball in the situation.
Player in gate 2, can they take the ball with their back foot and play the ball to gate 3 in 2 touches.
Weight of pass for players on manno and gate 3 or 4 as it is a longer pass they are playing.
