Objective:
Improve ability to defend 1v1 and 2v1
Organization:
Defending player will play ball into the attacker and immediately go and defend.
Attacking player will then play ball into second attacker who has his back to goal.
Player receiving the ball can lay off the pass to create a 2v1 or try and turn to beat defender. Each team will defend and attack 2x.

Key Coaching Points:
Always be able to see the ball, use hands to make offensive player uncomfortable.
Force play to be 1v1 and be able to deny shot.

Objective:
Understand basic principles of defending when you are numbers down.
Organization:
3 cones placed 10 yards outside the 18yd box.
Defensive players play the ball into one of the 3 offensive players who then attack and try to score on goal.
Each team will be on the defensive side for a 5 min period.
Application & Constraints:
Play a properly paced ball into offensive team to allow them to control and attack defensive team.
Time/rest:
4 min 2x 1:30 rest
Key Coaching Points:
Close down space quickly.
Good balnce in stance and posture to be able to disrupt play 1v1.
Close down passing lane. Work with partner to have good pressure and cover for support. Win 1v1 battles, be comitted to deny shots on goal.

Ability to keep posession with numbers up/ work together to defend numbers down

Objective:
Improve ability to defend numbers down. Specifically Defending 2v1
Organization:
12x12 grid play 2v1.
Offensive team tries to get past one defender with ball under control.
When the offensive team gets past defender to the opposite side of the grid or ball goes out of bounds two new players form the defensive team go into the attack.
The offensive player who last touch the ball is out and the remainding player quickly becomes the lone defender.
Two grids going on at same time.
Application & Constraints:
Offensive team must make at leat 1 pass before getting to the opposite side.
Time/rest:
Each team is on defense 3min 2x.
Key Coaching Points:
Eliminate passing lane try and make it a 1v1 situation.
Be physically strong satnd up and do not dive.
