Session description
This training session will focus on the players agility, performing sharp movements in and out of the poles and also following instructions to test reaction speed. The drill will start with the player jogging on the spot in the middle of 3 different coloured cones. (blue, red and yellow)
The coach will shout any coloured cone, if the coach shouts "blue cone" the player will touch it with their hand and then continue running in on the spot, this instruction goes for any of the other two colours. Once the player has touched the cone a few times he must wait for the command word (GO) to start running in a zig zag pattern through the poles until he reaches the ball, once the player reaches the ball he must complete 10 successful toe taps then proceed to score a goal, once the player has taken a shot he needs to sprint back and sharply glide in-between the poles to reach the two end red cones for the next player to go.

Session description
For the last exercise i decided to run a little obstacle course, the player will start in-between the tall orange goals and dribble their ball in a zig zag pattern round the outside of the orange cones (red line) using sharp movements whilst keeping the ball close to them having full control over it.
Once through the red cones you must pick up your pace and glide through the tall poles which will lead you to the two dummy defenders. At this point the coach needs to encourage the players to be creative when beating both defenders before approaching the mini goal, however the players can use their coach for a bounce pass if necessary to make the drill more realistic. Once one of the players are past the red cones the next player is allowed to go.

Reaction Game (10 mins)
Warm up Description
This warm up game tests reaction times, the coach can either shout out the numbers 1 or 2 or the colour blue or red, these commands are indications of what the plyer has to do, for example, if the coach shouts number 2, player number 2 needs to turn around and run past their cone (orange) before number 1 touches their back. If the coach shouts either blue or red then the player will need to pick up one of the cones before the other player grabs it, who ever picks the cone up first will receive a point.
coaching points
encourage players to stay mentally alert and ready to respond
Praise the players immediately and challenge players to be faster next round, praise is important within this warm up as any reaction game can be frustrating and for some players it can affect the rest of their session.
visual or audio ques to test reaction time.
awareness and focus
decision making
body positioning
Challenge- can you steal the cone with your weaker hand?
Equipment
x24 cones
