Set Up: 12*12 grid (adjust according to the needs of the group). Supply of balls along the outside. Two set ups.
Players: 8-9 - adjust according to numbers. 3v3+2.
Description: Basic rondo exercise. Neutral players in black support the team in possession. Attacking players score a point for every 5 passes connected. Defenders can win the ball back and play with the neutral players - can play the neutral player on the side to get out of pressure. Play 2 minutes and switch central neutral player with outside neutral player. After another 2 minutes, switch neutral players.
Key Factors:
Pressure - win the ball back early.
Compact shape - can we make play predictable?
In transition - open up quickly or quickly get compact.
Awareness - of teammates and opponents.

Set Up: 40*30 grid split into two halves. Supply of balls on the outside with the server.
Players: Two teams: 7 red, 7 blue. 4v3 overload for Blue (6v4 overload with 3 red supporting players on the outside). In the other half, 3 blues with 1 red. Target player (9) for blue is unopposed.
Description: Transition game with a different focus for each team, depending on who has possession. Red look to connect 5 passes for one point, using supporting players on the outside. Supporting players can only pass to each other once prior to playing back into the middle. Blue look to win the ball and transition to their teammates in the other half (need to play the target player 9). 3 blue and 3 red transition to the other half. The 4th blue drops to become the target player. Blue's focus is to then keep possession and connect 5 passes with their supporting players. Red look to regain possession and transition to their waiting target player.
Progression:
1. Target players become opposed. Transitioning players choose among all three target players (7,11,9).
2. Add target goals on each end that the team in transition can attack after transitioning to the other grid and completing a set number of passes.
Key Factors:
1. Compact defensive shape - look to regain the ball.
2. Quick dispersal and transition to go into "attack" mode.
3. Awareness to see where the target player is.
4. Proper support for teammate with the ball.
