4 Square
Three teams of 3 (or 4) players.
-Ball is played into square
-Defending team starts next to coach and sends in 1 player
-Attacking team is looking to connect 5 passes and send ball into other square
-Switch when possession is lost
Coaching Points
1) Make play predictable
2) Get attacking players to get their head down
3) Communication from defending teammates on when/where/how to press and win the ball

Organization:
20x20 yards area
3 coned goals (A,B,C) on each side
Teams of 3
Instructions:
Play 2v2 in the area
Teams try to score a goal through any three of the small goals they are attacking.
The extra player on each team can move along the goal line his team is defending. If he is standing in a goal, no goal can be scored there. (ex: in the diagram blue cannot score on goal B and red cannot score on goal A)
Coaching Points:
1)Compactness.
2)Angles of defending.
3)Organization, Communication and collaboration using the 3rd defender.
Progressions:
The player standing in the goal can come out when his team has possession and attack 3v2

4v4 + Attacking Restrictions
(#'s could vary / team)
- Attacking team shoots on big goal
- Defensive team looks to win the ball and score on either counter goals
- Attacking team must move the ball through designated shaded square, before scoring.
- Ball always restarts from coach, who will play attacking team
Coaching Observations/Points
1) Defenders must force ball away from Center Space
2) Have cover when necessary, If cover is available "PRESS". If no cover is availabe "DROP OFF"
3) "Around us, not through us!"

- Blue looks to dribble by defender and score
- Red looks to win possession and score on counter goal

- Attacker (Blue) sprints around cone and receives ball from next player in line
- Defender (Red) sprints to apply pressure
- Blue is looking to turn and score
- Red is looking to win possession and score
Work:Rest Ratio = 1:3
Coaching Points:
1- Speed of Approach, Angle of Approach, Break Down
2- Be patient (look to delay), wait for a bad touch
3- If attacker is facing his own goal, look to apply immediate/relentless pressure
