Topic: Passing Receiving

Activity: Partner Passing or groups of 4. 

Set Up: 

  • 5x5yd or 10x10yd

Instructions:

  • .Players pass ball to their partner box and attempt to receive the ball with a directional first touch behind the cone. Progress through the surfaces alternating both feet.
    • Inside open
    • Inside across
    • Outside

Main Technical Coaching Points/Questions

  • Passing 
    • Toe up, heel down, ankle locked 
    • FT towards target next to the ball (dead), in front of (moving)
    • PF towards target 
    • No "sticks"
  • Balance (PF)
  • Body position, ready to receive the ball 

Regressions/Progressions:

  • Make the distance longer if too easy or shorter if too difficult
  • Competition: How many passes in a row without missing?
