Hexagon Passing

Set up: 20 yard hexagon set up for your team

  • One player each corner of the hexagon, balls located at opposite points of the hexagon (yellow players).
  • Have extra balls on hand so do not have to chase bad passes and waste time.

CP's:

  • 2-Touch Passing with back foot - foot farthest from the ball
  • Turn & pass as quick as possible
  • Give your teammate a good firm pass
  • Light on your feet and ready
  • Move after each pass, never remain in the same spot

Reps: 

  • 2 minute rounds then rotate positions around hexagon.
  • How many times can we get the 2 balls around?

- Variation 1: All players move after pass, turns taken only at the sides of the hexagon. If 1 or 2 extra players are available, add in an optional wall pass around cone at hexagon sides (highlighted in RED).

- Variation 2: All players remain at original location, wall pass exchange only at top & bottom of hexagon. If 1 or 2 extra players are available, add in an optional wall pass around cone at hexagon sides (highlighted in RED).

 

Progression/Regression:

 

  • (P) Change the type of turn
  • (P) Change direction of ball/player rotation 
  • (P) One touch passing
  • (R) Only one ball
