The guantlet allows players to practice 1v1 situations, focusing in dribble moves and change of pace/directions to beat defenders

Organization of Session
- 15 x15 grid
- place a small goal/gate in each corner
- divide players into four groups, one per corner
Key Points
- Defending player (1) passess forwardto attacking player (2). Attacking player receives ball on dribble and attemps to score by DRIBBLING THROUGH one of the two goals on opposite site. If 2 wins the ball, then game is over and next defender in line passes the ball to next attacker and sequence is repeated.
- At the same time players 1 & 2 are going, players A & B also go so there are two 1v1 battles in the same space.
- Defender must have 2 touches or play the ball out of bounds to "win" it.
- Defenders cannot score.
- Timed game, play 5 minutes and then switch attacking/defender players.
Coaching Points
- Dribble at an angle (not straight at defender).
- Use turns to change direction and beat defender
- Dribbler should change speed/direction when throwing a move.

Organization of Session
- set up field 20x30
Key Points
- no more than 4v4 on field. Rotate players or set up additional fields as needed.
Coaching Points
- Use moves to beat defenders on dribble
- If teammate has ball, other players should spread out (get out of the way)
- Encourage players to dribble forward at an angle when possible

Dribbling Warm up (15 mins)
Organization of Session
- Three cones are set up in a line with 10-12 yards beteen each cone
- 2-3 players (each with a ball) at each outside cone
- Players dribble to cone and throw a possession move (such as step over, pull back, chop), player dribbles back to starting cone after throwing the move (B).
Coaching Points
- Executing the move properly is more important than going fast. Make sure players use proper technique for each move - slow them down if needed.
- Be specific as to which foot the players uses to execute the move. Get reps with both feet.
- Recommend that no more than 2-3 moves be taught in a single session.
- Players should "explode out" of the move, dribbling as fast as possible(using outside of foot)
- Players should alwasy keep ball tight and under control.
